Ellsworth Kekela Ili, 74, of Pepeekeo died April 9, 2013, at his residence. Born July 8, 1938, in Hilo, he served in the Air Force, retired from JC Penney, served as a counselor and journalist for the Honolulu Boy Choir and participated as a kupuna for the Hawaii State Kupuna Program at Nanaikapono Elementary School.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. May 4 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Family requests aloha attire be worn. Additional services will be held on Oahu at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Anne Ili of Honolulu; sons, Ryan (Miki) Makua and Russell (Keala) Ili, both of Honolulu; daughters, Robin (Lester) Luahiwa, Ronda Makua, Lynn (Dale) Akeo and Sarah Ili, all of Honolulu; sisters, Mary Jane (Ronald) Makua and Mele (Melvin) Ah Ho, both of Oahu, Maydeen (Mitchell) Bailey of Kentucky; numerous grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.
